Opening Week - Election Integrity

Opening Week - Election Integrity
If you are planning to join us for our election integrity workday at the Capitol on Thursday, January 6th, the most important thing to remember is that you need to take advantage of your opportunity to talk with legislators.  Please make time to connect with your own senator and representative in addition to others.

Building a positive relationship with your legislators is a priceless asset and will help you personally as well as our collective efforts.

I know this can seem daunting if you've never participated in this way, but I've got some great information for you to help you out!

how it works

  • Find your legislator's office using the directory and map you got at the information desk on the 1st floor near the rotunda.
  • It is a good idea to call their office to see if you can schedule a meeting.  You'll be sure to see them if you have an appointment.  If you don't have an appointment or don't call, it's ok.  Go ahead and walk in.
  • Walk right in the office, even if the door is closed.  Seriously.  Don't knock - just go in!  They expect you to.
  • Walk in with a smile and say, "I'd like to talk to Representative _____, please.  Is he in?"  If he is, most likely you'll be shuttled to his office or he'll come out to see you.  If he's not, ask when you would be able to see him while you are in the building.
  • Smile, shake hands and introduce yourself with confidence!  They are all going to be very nice to you.  They'll act happy to see you, be all smiles and listen to what you have to say.
  • He'll probably ask if you are a constituent or who you are with.  If you're not a constituent, let him know that you are a concerned citizen.
  • Ask how he feels about Missouri elections.
  • Download the document below and use it as a guide if you need help with talking points.
If you need help throughout the day, please don't hesitate to reach out!  I'll be there all day and I want to help make your experience enjoyable and productive.

Opening Week, Pt 2: If You're Coming to the Capitol

Opening Week, Pt 2: If You're Coming to the Capitol
If you're coming to the Capitol for the first time, you may be nervous and wondering about the details.
I've got you covered!  Here are a few tips and tricks you might find helpful.

parking

The easiest place to park is in the parking garage on the corner of Madison St. and Capitol Ave.  The cost to park for the day is $6.  The walk to the capitol is as couple blocks long if you walk down Capitol Ave and a little longer if you walk down High Street.   If you want a cup of coffee on your way, walk down High Street and stop in at Yanis.  If you'd rather walk by the Governor's Mansion, the garden and a shorter walk take Capitol Ave.

There is free parking down the hill from the Capitol at the corner of Main St and Missouri Blvd.  It's a lot for State workers but there are generally plenty of spaces.  In that case, Three Story Coffee is just across the street if  you need it.

There is also metered parking downtown if  you prefer that option.  Tickets are $5 and you can pay online.

what to bring

I suggest bringing one larger bag with you inside the building and make sure everything you need fits inside.  You'll be carrying everything with you all day, so pack light.  Here's a list of what I consider necessities when I'm at the Capitol for the day.

  • Wallet & keys
  • Phone & external charger if you need it - fyi...Service inside is very hit & miss.  Don't count on it.
  • Portfolio or notepad and pen
  • Talking points ready
  • Business cards if you have them
  • Umbrella if there is ANY chance of rain
  • Water bottle & easy-to-eat snacks

misc information

  • You can carry your weapon inside the building.
  • No masks required in the building but several offices of the democrat officials request them inside their offices.
  • To enter, walk in from the High Street side of the building.  Go behind the steps to the breezeway.  The center doors in the breezeway are the only ones you can enter.
  • When you get through security, stop at the information desk on the left as you walk to the rotunda.  Ask for a Senate & House directory and a map.
  • If you'd like to take a guided tour of the building while you're here, which I personally think is a wonderful experience, ask the staff at the information desk.  Generally, they do them every hour.
  • If you haven't seen it before, the war memorial is behind the building.  It's much prettier in nice weather, of course, when the fountains are running but it's still worth seeing if you haven't had the opportunity.
  • Arris Pizza has a lunch buffet.  It's across High Street.  It will probably be busy but it's great pizza.
  • There's a cafe in the basement if you need to buy a lunch but don't want to leave the building.
  • Although there are nearby restaurants and the cafe downstairs, you may not have time to leave when you're hungry so bring snacks just in case.

remember

  • Your legislators are public SERVANTS.  Treat them with respect but be confident!  It's their job to listen.
  • Talk to them like you'd talk to anyone else.  They are normal people.  There's no reason to be intimidated.
  • This government was designed for your voice to be heard, and that's the only way things change - so use it!

Do You Believe Elections in Missouri Are Secure?

Do You Believe Elections in Missouri Are Secure?
Are you confident our elections in Missouri are secure?  I'm not.

To some degree we all know elections cannot be fool-proof.  Humans are in charge and there will be a margin of error.  I understand.   However, in this super-cyber world we live in today, election security is much more complex than it has been in years past.

In fact, just this week a hospital in our area was the victim of a ransom attack.  The ENTIRE hospital system - all the data, all the personal patient information, even the phone lines weren't working right - it's been hijacked and is being held for ransom.  This is the world we live in today.  A world where cyber ATTACKS are happening daily.

Are we to believe it couldn't happen to our election system?  Or that it hasn't happened already?  Let's not be so naïve.

But, there's GOOD NEWS!!

There is a group of citizens in Missouri who are working to keep our elections here as safe and secure as possible.

I highly recommend taking the time to watch this presentation by Keith Carmichael on Missouri election integrity to learn about what's happening here in Missouri and how you can help.

IF WE DON'T HAVE SECURE ELECTIONS, WE LOSE THE REPUBLIC!

I know there are so many big issues going on today.  But think about this...

If we don't have secure elections, how do we keep mandates from happening in the future?

If we don't have secure elections, how do we work to keep our school boards in check?

If we don't have secure elections, how do we keep the REALLY bad guys from taking over?    And if they know they stole the election once, they'll keep stealing to keep their power.

If we don't have secure elections, WE LOSE EVERYTHING.

You Need A Covid Plan NOW. Don't Wait!

You Need A Covid Plan NOW. Don't Wait!
Do you know what's happening inside Missouri hospitals as a result of this pandemic?

Do you have friends or family who have suffered because of hospital protocol?  Were they given informed consent for all decisions that were made?

Have you talked to doctors, nurses, therapists who have left their jobs because of what's happening inside and their loss of freedom to practice medicine?

I can honestly answer yes to all of the above.

And because of that, I am here to tell you today that you NEED TO HAVE A COVID PLAN.

Covid isn't going away.  The shot isn't removing it from the planet.

The question today is... How do you want to be treated when you get it?

If you don't know, it's time for you to take responsibility for your own health and figure it out now so you can prepare and your family can be informed ahead of time.

I've been on a mission for several years to be more natural and chemical free in our health and home choices.  My family of 6 has not been to the doctor for illness since 2013.  Oh we get sick sometimes, but I've learned enough to know how to take care of us 99.9% of the time.

And before you label me as an anti-anything...
Yes, we do consult a doctor when we need to.
Yes, I do use prescriptions when necessary.
Yes, my children have had 99% of the vaccines that were on the list when they were younger.

I just want to stay well enough not to need the doctor.  Don't you?

When Covid appeared, I went to work reading and researching and gathering my tools.  It's just what I do.

As time has passed I've watched dear friends be admitted to the hospital for Covid.  I've watched as they and their families suffer the outrageous effects of this system that has gone rogue.  Unfortunately, in more than one case - death was the outcome.

What's happening in our hospitals is OUTRAGEOUS!  If you don't know - you need to start asking for first hand accounts.

What I've learned after watching people I love suffer, trying to help people who reach out to me and especially after my husband and I also having Covid and recovering recently is that you NEED to have a plan BEFORE you get sick.

PLEASE.  MAKE A PLAN!

Educate yourself and know what your local hospital protocol is.   Every hospital is making their own decisions at an administrative level.  Some will do things others will not, so find out now and decide what you want YOUR protocol to be.

Do the research now and learn about side effects of those hospital protocols.  Learn about monoclonal antibody treatments and qualifications to get one, Remdesivir and possible side effects, criteria for admission as well as various methods of delivering oxygen.

What's the data regarding survival rates after ventilation at your hospital?
How many bipap patients go on a vent compared to weaning off?
Is your hospital receiving funds for patients at varying levels of treatment?

Questions like this are part of true informed consent, but many patients and families are NOT getting that information prior to treatment decisions being made.  You need to find those answers now, while you are able and before you are in a stressful situation trying to make important decisions.

If you are wondering what a plan might look like I've decided to make it available in hopes it might help you develop one for yourself and your family.

What you'll get:
  • List of MO doctors and clinics that are willing to provide early treatment and work to keep patients out of the hospital
  • List of MO pharmacies that are willing to fill scripts for early treatment
  • My personal Covid Plan
  • My personal notes that were compiled as a result of my experience taking care of my husband throughout the process when he was sick earlier this winter.
I hope these resources are helpful to you!
